As shift leader you will be responsible for supervising and supporting the work of team members on shift

Main Purpose of Job:

To assist children and young people to develop socially acceptable behaviour through encouragement of positive behaviour, constructive response to inappropriate behaviour and adherence to the clients' behaviour management strategies.

 

Tasks/Duties and Responsibilities:


By acting as shift leader and coordinating and working with other members of the team to be actively involved in the direct care of the children and young people in accordance with standards of care as identified within the relevant policy or practice guidelines.  This will include, for example:

Contributing to the normal development of the children and young people and promoting a healthy life style.

Being aware of the children’s and young people’s leisure and recreational needs and supporting their active participation in these.

Carry out therapeutic crisis intervention as necessary (and after training where required).

Listen to and talk to children and young people, observe their behaviour, and record significant features.

Our client is URGENTLY seeking a Residential Support Worker for their childrens home based in Dartford which provides OFSTED-registered high quality residential care, therapy and education for six boys aged 8 to 16yrs with Social Emotional Beahvioural Disorder.

The client provides high quality care and education for children and young people with complex needs relating to their health, education, welfare and development.  The client actively support the governments 'Every Child Matters' aim to ensure that children and young people need to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic wellbeing.
Examples of complex needs that clients may demonstrate are  - Aspergers Syndrome, Attachment Disorder, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, Partial Deafness, Epilepsy, Eating Disorders, Mild Mental Health Disorders, Social Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties.


Salary: £15,000 - £17,000 dependant upon experience and qualifications

Hours: 40 hours per week average on a shift basis to include
